Our Programs
Hands‑on, food‑focused learning that helps students and communities make their mark.
At Mark‑It Makers, we bridge plate to pencil—turning farm‑based experiences into creative, mindful learning that empowers every learner to make their mark on a healthier, more vibrant future.

Student-Run Farmers Market
Students plant, plan, calculate, design, and promote their way to a market they bring to life themselves.
What students learn:
-
Math & Market Data: unit price, budgeting, weighing, inventory, revenue tracking
-
Science & Sustainability: plant biology, soil health, pollinators, composting
-
Communication & Leadership: customer service, announcements, teamwork
-
Design & Creativity: posters, labels, recipe cards, logos
-
Entrepreneurship: decision‑making, planning, problem‑solving
Format: 5–10 weeks (1–2 sessions/week)
Best for: Grades 1–8, after‑school programs, STEM blocks, garden classes

Students don’t just sell produce—they discover their voice, build confidence, and create something meaningful for their community.

Market Math Labs
Applied math that feels real, relevant, fun and comes to life when there’s a grocery basket involved.
Hands‑on sessions where students use real produce to solve market‑based math challenges and offers a mobile, interactive simulation that teaches students the essential "Invisible Skills" of adulthood.
Skills: fractions, unit rate, graphing, multi‑step problems, comparison shopping, budgeting

Why Educators Love It:
* Tactile Math: We replace worksheets with price tags and scales. Students practice decimals, percentages, and estimation in a high-stakes, fun environment.
* Executive Functioning: Navigating a "market" requires planning, focus, and decision-making—skills that translate directly to better classroom behavior.
* Food Literacy: By teaching kids how to shop for raw ingredients, we empower them to make healthier choices outside of school walls.
We aren't just teaching kids how to buy food; we are teaching them how to navigate the world with confidence and a budget
Formats: single session or multi‑session series
Best for: grades 1–6, STEM days, enrichment blocks
